University of Mosul Hosts British Ambassador: Spotlight on the SolAware Project for a Sustainable Future

We were honored on Sunday, 04-08-2024 by the visit of His Excellency, Mr. Stephen Charles Hitchen, the British Ambassador to Iraq, to the University of Mosul. During the visit, we exchanged numerous insights and ideas with His Excellency. He engaged in discussions with the students of the University of Mosul, particularly focusing on research and student programs aimed at training our distinguished youth from the College of Science and Engineering. His Excellency was briefed on the collaborative summer training program between Teesside University in the UK and the University of Mosul, sponsored by the British Consulate: “Solar Energy for a Decarbonized Future – Knowledge Transfer for Environmental Education and Awareness (SolAware).” He expressed his admiration for the dedication and perseverance of our students in participating in such training programs during the summer. The students proposed an expansion of collaborative efforts with British universities, emphasizing that such partnerships offer significant benefits to both faculty and students. We warmly welcome His Excellency, the British Ambassador, to the University of Mosul.
