The University of Mosul organized a workshop to launch the joint project “Solar Energy for a Decarbonised Future – Knowledge Transfer for Environmental Education and Awareness (SolAware)’ project, which is funded by the British Council, Research Environments Grants 2023-24” in cooperation with Teesside University and the support of the British Council on Sunday, March 10, 2024, in the presence of the President of the University of Mosul, Dr. Qusay Al-Ahmadi and a delegation from the British Council in Iraq, headed by the Director of the Council, Mr. Bin, and representatives of Nineveh Governorate and a number of government departments and local organizations with an interest in the subject of the project. The deans of the faculties of engineering and science, and professors and students
participating in the project’s activities, were also present. The workshop included a detailed explanation of the project stages by the project manager from the University of Teesside, Dr. Maher Al-Greer and members of the work team from the University of Mosul, as well as an introduction to the two partner universities and the capabilities and goals that it is hoped to achieve through implementing activities inside and outside the university in the service of society and the environment.
